Our GHOST Story

It's been almost a year since we launched the GHOST, and boy, was it a wild ride!
The question that we get asked most often is: Why call it the GHOST?
To be frank, we didn't have a name right at the start of conceptualizing this model. All we knew was that we wanted a fully transparent case, EL backlight and dual time function. After all, having modified so many Casio F91-W since 2021, we have been in touch with many customers and we wanted to build something based on their feedback.
We won't bore you with the frantic, hair-pulling aspects of searching for factories, speaking to multiple agencies and spending an ungodly sum making some prototypes that were far from what we envisioned. What we are thankful for is that we finally made something unique - the GHOST.
So, why call it the GHOST?
The answer can either make you feel like we had a stroke of genius, or we almost had a stroke.
As we were finalizing the design of the GHOST with the factory, we were still neck deep in making modified F-91W for our sister brand, Make Good Watches. We turned on Netflix for some ambient noise, and started re-watching FUBAR season 1, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, from the corner of our eyes.
It was episode 7, and Roo needed fluid to wash Aldon's wound. But they were in a sewer with no clean source of water. The next best option is of course, her pee. But Roo said she has issues peeing in public, and Aldon suggested singing a song to help her.

The song suggested was If You Could Read My Mind, by Gordon Lightfoot. One of the lines they sang in the show goes like this: "As long as I'm a ghost, that you can see."
This song lived rent free in our heads for weeks, and when the time came to name our transparent watch, it was almost too easy - GHOST.
So, there you have it! The watch itself is a reflection of all the modifications we have been doing since 2021, and the name came from a Netflix show where it was sang to encourage a character, to pee.
